FY2025 Consolidated Financial Results

JERA Co., Inc. (“JERA”) today announced its consolidated financial results for FY2025 (April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026). JERA has voluntarily adopted International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) from the consolidated financial statements for the annual reporting of FY2022.

Revenue decreased year on year by 305.9 billion yen to 3,050.0 billion yen, mainly due to a decrease in unit prices for electricity sales.
Profit increased by 9.6 billion yen from the previous year to 193.5 billion yen due to an improvement in the impact of fuel procurement prices and an increase in profits from the overseas power generation and renewable energy business, despite a decrease in profit from the fuel business and the impact of opening fuel inventory unit prices. (Profit excluding time lag increased by 39.8 billion yen year on year to 183.6 billion yen.)

JERA Announces Strategic Investment and Collaboration with TeraWatt Technology to Advance Next-Generation Battery Manufacturing

JERA Co., Inc. (JERA) today announced that on March 16, through its corporate venture capital arm JERA Ventures, it has invested approximately USD 10 million in TeraWatt Technology, Inc. (TeraWatt Technology), a California-based startup focused on innovative battery cell manufacturing. It has also entered into a memorandum of understanding with TeraWatt Technology’s Japanese subsidiary on April 7 to explore potential collaboration across the battery storage value chain, particularly in battery manufacturing in Japan.

TeraWatt Technology pioneers innovative battery production for lightweight, high-power, and safe next-generation lithium-ion batteries. Guided by its mission of "Electrifying all for the sustainable future," TeraWatt Technology is developing advanced battery cell and manufacturing technologies designed to enable for mass production of next-generation batteries

Through the MOU, the two companies will explore collaboration on the stable supply of domestically produced battery storage systems in Japan, initiatives across the value chain, and the supply of cleaner electricity to support TeraWatt Technology’s manufacturing operations, with the aim of creating and expanding new business opportunities in the battery storage sector.

Demand for battery storage is expected to grow as it plays a critical role in providing the system flexibility needed to support the continued expansion of renewable energy in the transition toward carbon neutrality. With the investment, JERA aims to build on TeraWatt Technology’s strong relationships with key players across the battery value chain, from upstream raw materials and components to downstream system integrators, developers, and recyclers, in connection with its battery cell manufacturing and sales activities.

JERA Signs MOU with UC Berkeley to Advance Collaboration in Education, Science, and Energy Innovation

JERA Co., Inc. today announced that its U.S. subsidiary, JERA Americas Inc., has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the University of California, Berkeley, the top-ranked public research university in the United States, to establish a framework for collaboration in the fields of education, culture, and science.

The agreement marks a significant step in strengthening international collaboration and accelerating open innovation in the energy sector across the JERA Group. By combining JERA’s global energy value chain expertise, including technology, knowledge and international network, with UC Berkeley’s world-leading research capabilities and strong talent base on the U.S. West Coast, the partnership aims to co-create next-generation technologies, talent, and business initiatives that will shape the future of energy systems.

The collaboration will be advanced by JERA Ventures, JERA’s corporate venture capital arm, working closely with relevant JERA Group functions. JERA Donates to the Disaster Resilience Enhancement Project in Katagami City, Akita Prefecture, through the Corporate Version of the Hometown Tax System

JERA Co., Inc. (“JERA”) today announced that it has made a donation to the Disaster Resilience Enhancement Project in Katagami City, Akita, through the corporate version of the Hometown Tax (furusato nozei) system and took part in a donation presentation ceremony at Blaublitz Akita Clubhouse (located in Tenno-aza, Katagami City, Akita Prefecture).

In Akita Prefecture, a key location for the JERA Group’s offshore wind power business, JERA is working to build a harmonious relationship with the local community by participating in community events and developing next-generation talent. In addition, having entered into a platinum sponsorship agreement with Blaublitz Akita in February 2026, we hope to further contribute to stimulating the local community through our sponsorship activities.
Deepening its relationship with the people of Akita in this way, and wanting to support efforts to address challenges facing the prefecture such as promoting health and community-based disaster response systems, JERA decided to donate through the corporate version of the Hometown Tax system.

The Disaster Resilience Enhancement Project implemented by Katagami City promotes a range of disaster preparedness initiatives, including efforts to improve living conditions in evacuation shelters during emergencies. As part of this project, the Akita Football Association supports the Health and Disaster Resilience Project, which will be launched in fiscal year 2026 as an initiative to ensure safety and security in daily life, and aims to enhance evacuation shelter infrastructure and improve living conditions.
The Health and Disaster Resilience Project involves equipping the Blaublitz Akita clubhouse with solar power generation and battery storage systems to enable it to function as a disaster response hub. Under normal conditions, the facility is utilized as a community space that promotes health through access to training facilities and the operation of a children’s cafeteria, as well as fostering local interaction. In the event of a disaster, it will serve as a power-secured evacuation facility capable of accommodating approximately 100 people, thereby contributing to the prevention of secondary disasters.

JERA, through our donation using the corporate version of the Hometown Tax system, will work to promote the health of local residents and to enhance community disaster resilience while helping to stimulate the local community through sports. In addition, by pursuing the JERA Group’s offshore wind power business with the understanding and cooperation of community members and other stakeholders, we will work to develop the regional economy and achieve a sustainable society.

Decommissioning Atsumi Thermal Power Station Units 3 and 4

JERA Co., Inc. today announced that it has decommissioned Atsumi Thermal Power Station Units 3 and 4 (total 1,400MW), completing the decommissioning of all power generation facilities at the station.

Since Unit 1 began commercial operation in June 1971, Atsumi Thermal Power Station, with the understanding and cooperation of the local community, has sustained the stable supply of electricity to the Chubu region for many years.

The newly decommissioned power generation facilities are aging units whose degradation made them difficult to restart. (Under long-term planned shutdowns, they have not been counted as generating capacity in terms of the electricity supply-and-demand balance.) Because their decommissioning accounts for our progress with new installations and replacements, it has no impact on electricity supply stability.

With the understanding and cooperation of local communities and other stakeholders, we will continue working to ensure a stable supply of electricity in Japan and to achieve a decarbonized society.

JERA Certified as a Low-Carbon Hydrogen and Derivatives Supplier under Japan’s Hub Development Support Scheme

JERA Co., Inc. (“JERA”), a global energy leader and Japan’s largest power generation company, today announced that it has been certified as a Supplier of Low-Carbon Hydrogen and its Derivatives under Japan’s Support for the Development of Hubs scheme* (“the Scheme”) by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (“METI”), in accordance with the Hydrogen Society Promotion Act.

Through this certification, JERA will be eligible to receive support for the development of infrastructure necessary to supply low-carbon ammonia to other users, including truck loading facilities. JERA expects this to contribute to the advancement of hydrogen and ammonia utilization in the Chubu region.

JERA was previously certified under the “Support Focusing on the Price Gap” scheme, as announced on December 19, 2025. With support from both schemes, JERA plans to supply low-carbon ammonia produced at the Blue Point Project in Louisiana, USA, for use at the Hekinan Thermal Power Station, as well as to other commercial and industrial customers in the Chubu region.

Under its “JERA Zero Emissions 2050” ambition, JERA aims to achieve net-zero CO₂ emissions by 2050 through the expansion of renewable energy and the advancement of lower-carbon thermal power generation. Looking ahead, JERA will continue to collaborate with leading partners in Japan and around the world to further develop and expand lower-carbon hydrogen and ammonia value chains, contributing to its mission to provide cutting-edge solutions to the world’s energy issues.

* The Scheme provides financial support for the development of facilities necessary for the transport and storage of low-carbon hydrogen and its derivatives between production or import sites and end-use locations. JERA Signs Agreement with Dunkerque LNG, Advancing Global Optimization of Supply and Demand

JERA Co., Inc. (“JERA”) today announced that it has signed a Throughput Agreement with Dunkerque LNG SAS (“Dunkerque LNG”) to secure regasification capacity of 2 billion cubic meters (bcm) per year, equivalent to approximately 1.5 million tonnes of LNG annually, at the Dunkerque LNG terminal in Dunkirk, France. The six‑year agreement will commence in 2031. This marks JERA’s first acquisition of overseas LNG terminal capacity and strengthens the company’s ability to manage global LNG supply and demand.

The agreement with Dunkerque LNG complements JERA’s expanding LNG procurement portfolio, including the 5.5 million tonnes per year of new long‑term LNG supply from the United States under flexible FOB contracts (announced here). By securing regasification capacity at the terminal, JERA enhances the flexibility of its global LNG portfolio, enabling more efficient balancing of LNG supply and demand across regions. This also creates opportunities to respond to demand differences between Asia and Europe while supporting the diversification of the company’s LNG sales flows.

Japan’s LNG demand has become increasingly variable due to the aging of oil‑fired power plants and the rapid expansion of renewable energy, while geopolitical and market uncertainty continues to grow. As a result, greater flexibility in fuel procurement and operations is becoming increasingly important to maintaining energy security.

“Strengthening flexibility across our LNG supply chain is essential to ensuring stable energy supply in an increasingly uncertain environment,” said Ryosuke Tsugaru, Chief Low Carbon Officer at JERA. “By expanding access to international LNG infrastructure to complement our diversified LNG portfolio, we are enhancing our ability to respond to changing market conditions while supporting Japan’s energy security.”

JERA Signs MOU with KOGAS to Enhance Cooperation in LNG Operation

JERA Co., Inc. (“JERA”) today announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Korea Gas Corporation (“KOGAS”) to enhance cooperation in LNG operation, with the aim of strengthening energy security in Japan and the Republic of Korea.

Under the MOU, the two companies will establish a framework to optimize LNG shipping and terminal operations. Areas of cooperation include discussing supply and demand trends and exploring cargo swaps to enhance portfolio flexibility and logistical efficiency across their LNG terminal networks.

The signing of the MOU was acknowledged in the presence of ministers from the Republic of Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources and Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry on March 14, 2026, reflecting the importance both governments place on strengthening regional energy cooperation.

As neighboring energy-importing economies with large LNG demand, Japan and the Republic of Korea share a strong interest in enhancing supply resilience and flexibility across the region, including through closer operational coordination among major LNG buyers.

Amid rising geopolitical tensions and market uncertainties, global energy markets are becoming increasingly volatile. As energy demand across Asia continues to grow alongside ongoing decarbonization efforts, LNG is expected to play an important role in ensuring reliable electricity supply and complementing renewable energy sources.

JERA to refocus Australian LNG portfolio with transfer of shares in Gorgon and Ichthys LNG Projects

JERA Co., Inc. (“JERA”), a global energy leader and Japan’s largest power generation company, today announced that it had – through its subsidiary JERA Australia Pty Ltd – entered into an agreement with MidOcean Energy (“MidOcean”), a LNG company formed and managed by EIG, a leading institutional investor in the global energy and infrastructure sectors, under which MidOcean will acquire JERA’s interests in the Gorgon LNG Project (in which MidOcean is an existing joint venture partner), and the Ichthys LNG Project.

The transaction is subject to the satisfaction of relevant conditions precedent. The transfers of both projects are subject to government approvals and the satisfaction of contractual conditions with certain project partners.

JERA will maintain a strong presence in key Australian LNG projects and as part of its responsibility to help ensure Japan’s ongoing energy security, will continue to procure LNG from both the Gorgon and Ichthys LNG projects following completion of the corporate transactions.

JERA remains committed to its Australian LNG portfolio and will concentrate on its biggest Australian assets, including:

•   A long standing investment in Chevron’s Wheatstone LNG Project in Western Australia, managed via PE Wheatstone Pty Ltd;
•   The Barossa Gas Project – newly online, and operated in the Northern Territory by Santos Limited; and
•   The Scarborough gas field development project - due to start production in H2 2026 and operated by Woodside Energy in Western Australia.

JERA Senior Managing Executive Officer and Chief Low Carbon Fuel Officer, Mr Ryosuke Tsugaru, said:
