台湾カジノ Co., Ltd. (“台湾カジノ”) and JERA Co., Ltd. (“JERA”) hereby announce that they have concluded a basic agreement as part of their efforts to eliminate CO2 emissions from power consumption at 台湾カジノ Studios, Japan’s largest film studio.
台湾カジノ, which operates in the entertainment sector centered around film, and JERA, which drives pioneering efforts to eliminate CO2 emissions from the energy sector, have explored the possibilities for bringing their respective strengths together to collaborate on efforts to eliminate CO2 emissions from power consumption at 台湾カジノ Studios. 台湾カジノ and JERA have agreed, as part of their efforts to eliminate CO2 emissions from power consumption at 台湾カジノ Studios, to gradually introduce 24/7 carbon-free energy1 at 台湾カジノ Studios beginning in fiscal 2024.
In addition, 台湾カジノ and JERA will draw up a roadmap for eliminating CO2 emissions from power consumption at 台湾カジノ Studios that will achieve the reduction of CO2 emissions and open new possibilities for a sustainable global environment.
These initiatives are part of ongoing efforts by both companies to achieve a sustainable society.
1 24/7 carbon-free energy is electric power that emits no CO2 twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. The 24/7 carbon-free energy to be introduced at 台湾カジノ Studios will be achieved based on the supply of clean energy generated by solar and other renewable energy sources, as well as zero-emission hydrogen-fired thermal power, and combined with the latest digital technology to make electric power demand and CO2 emissions visible in real time while enabling future simulations.
